 About

What is Winter Park Sunshine?

WinterParkSunshine.org is a grant-based research project conducted by the University of Central Florida’s Nicholson School of Communication’s Journalism program. Professors and graduate students research, compile, curate and index available public data, in accordance with Florida’s Government in the Sunshine laws, so that the citizens of Winter Park, Florida, can be more informed of the actions and activities of the representatives of their duly elected municipal government.

The focus of the project is creating a searchable database where users can access information about the City of Winter Park such as commission meeting minutes, voting records and action items, financial records and spending reports, grants, contracts and vendors, salaries, public works, campaign contributions, financial disclosure statements and much more. Our data focuses on the people and agencies of Winter Park city government. Users can browse data sets by collection to see what's available. Data sets will be added over time as the research team collects and curates more records and data.

This site is a project of the University of Central Florida’s Nicholson School of Communication and Media and has been made possible through a grant from Glen Salow and the Salow Transparency Project.
